Exploring the Biblical narrative of Yeshua's death and resurrection

THE POINT:

I regularly study and test what I believe, especially when I'm able to discuss these ideas with fellow believers who may have a different understanding than me. After a conversation about whether or not Yeshua's prophecy in Matthew 12 is an idiom or a literal statement. This is a hotly debated topic, but it doesn't need to be something that divides us. The more I studied the more I realized both models could potentially work. This wasn't something I had considered before. However, the more I studied the more I realized there is one glaring issue with the idiom model. At a later time I will detail these discussions and explore these potential issues with interpretation in a more descriptive manner. Today, however, I want to offer a Biblical timeline complete with Scriptures to help you explore the dates and events surrounding Yeshua's death and resurrection. In this time map I compare both the literal 3 days and 3 nights interpretation with the timeline of the idiom interpretation that simply attempts to cover 3 calendar days. Furthermore, there is a downloadable PDF with the list of related verses from each of the 4 Gospels which tell the story of the Passover timeline. These are divided by event with the associated passages so you can study each event compared to the other Gospel records. I pray these two tools enrich your study this Passover.
